What is Traditional ⇄ Simplified conversion?

Traditional and Simplified Chinese differ in more than character shapes — the vocabulary often differs too (Taiwan 軟體 vs mainland 软件). This tool uses OpenCC for two-way conversion of both characters and vocabulary, entirely in your browser with no upload — great for documents, subtitles and posts.

How to use

  1. Choose a direction: Traditional → Simplified, or Simplified → Traditional.
  2. Paste Chinese text into the input box; the result appears instantly.
  3. Copy the converted text in one click.

Common use cases

  • Convert a Taiwan Traditional article to Simplified for mainland readers.
  • Turn Simplified material into Taiwan-style Traditional.
  • Convert subtitles, social posts, résumés and product descriptions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my text uploaded?

No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser using OpenCC. The text you enter is never sent to a server or stored.

How is this different from just swapping characters?

We use OpenCC’s vocabulary mapping, so it does more than turn 體 into 体 — it also handles wording differences, e.g. Taiwan 軟體/滑鼠/網路 map to mainland 软件/鼠标/网络, reading more naturally.

Which variants are supported?

Traditional (Taiwan usage) ↔ Simplified, both directions. Traditional follows Taiwan conventions with vocabulary conversion, best for Taiwan users.

Is it 100% accurate?

OpenCC’s mapping is very thorough, but Chinese characters can be ambiguous, so names, proper nouns and classical text may occasionally need a manual touch-up.
